House to Home
Transformed blog

During the 1980's my family did the whole US country look, my parents built a house from the Southern Living architectural plans books  and surrounded it with cottage gardens.  Our home was filled with braided rugs, quilts, checked and plaid fabrics, travel trunks as side tables, coffee tables, as blanket boxes at the end of beds.   Mail boxes, decorative pieces and American pressed brass and tin lights were purchased and rewired. Even though most of that is gone now, a few things have stayed in our homes.  Us kids have travel trunks/blanket boxes and the old quilts are still used on cold winter's nights.
Looking at theses  images above just reminds me that practical, functional furniture will always find a home  in my house!

Living in vivid colour!

It's been a tough week for Geoff with his eye surgery and his visions still isn't 100%
It will take putting a contact lense back in for vision to be restored.

It's had me thinking about how fortunate and blessed I am with my vision.

Feeling thankful for the gift of sight!

White Hot

I was in Sydney yesterday because Geoff  has recently had eye surgery
and we had to return for a post op examination.
It just so happens that the the Vision Eye Institute is in Chatswood,
right opposite The Chase - perfect opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done!
We had coffee at Pattison's and walked past Pearsons Florist to get there -
the flowers were divine!
Row after row of beautiful colours and assorted varieties.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was 39c/ 101f,
I might have arrived back in Bowral with bunches of flowers.
Instead, I got picking.....

Dash & Albert's - Bed of Roses - Kaffe, Annie & Georgia

Walking in the garden the other day just after the rain stopped,
I was drawn to the beauty of the roses.  I just had to photograph
them all!

It got me thinking about inspiration and where people get it from.
As you know I'm a fan of colour and I love the work of Kaffe Fassett,
Annie Selke of  Dash & Albert & Pine Cone Hill
and the American artist  Georgia O'Keefe.
Just wish it was possible to sit and have tea with these three,
unfortunately it's not to be but what a fabulous afternoon it could have been!
